| North Africa is quite distinct from the rest of Africa due to its Islamic
influence.
Hence we have so many non figurative patterns on everything from tiles to
rugs to pottery to screens to fabrics. |

Again plain walls finished with a matt varnish. Rugs and masses of floor
cushions and plants, and
you can conjure up that desert feeling.
You can go mad with tented ceilings if you like, but I would suggest the
odd piece of appropriate furniture to start with and the right
accessories and you can build up the style bit by bit. |
